Michigan State QB Noah Kim wins Big Ten weekly honor
Michigan State junior quarterback Noah Kim was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after a three-touchdown performance in a 45-14 win over Richmond last weekend.
Making his second career start, Kim completed 18-of-22 passes (81.8 %) for 292 yards and 3 touchdowns. Through two weeks of the 2023 football season Kim leads the Big Ten in passing yards with 571.
After missing some throws early against Richmond, Kim regained his accuracy and spread the ball around with surgical precision. The fourth-year Michigan State player completed 15 straight passes to close out his day before handing over the offense to back-up Katin Houser late in the fourth quarter.
Kim completed touchdown passes to wide receiver Tre Mosley, tight end Tyneil Hopper, and wide receiver Antonio Gates.
Kim set a new Michigan State record for consecutive pass completions against Richmond. His final pass was a 45-yard completion to Gates that put Michigan State up 45-7.

“I’ve been happy with how we finished the last two weeks, but we have to get off to a better start as well as the games get harder,” Kim said Saturday night following the game.
Through the first two games of the season, Kim has completed 36-of-53 passes (.679) for 571 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. Kim is tied first in the Big Ten in touchdown passes. He is second in the Big Ten through two weeks in passing efficiency (189.6) and total offense (296.0 ypg).
Kim hasn’t thrown an interception yet this season, which has also been a huge advantage for him early on. Michigan State threw for double digit interceptions each of the last two seasons.
Kim now faces the toughest test of his career in a match-up with No. 8 Washington, which is giving up just over 200 yards per game through the air. The Huskies have allowed just two touchdowns receptions thus far, and have three interceptions on the year.
