East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State will take the field against Ohio State Saturday night without wide receiver Alante Brown, wide receiver Antonio Gates Jr., defensive back Ade Willie, defensive back Dillon Tatum, cornerback Chance Rucker and tight end Michael Masunas, per the Spartans’ weekly availability report. All six are listed as “out.”
Michigan State listed wide receiver Nick Marsh and offensive tackle Stanton Ramil as “questionable.”
Wide receiver Jaron Glover will return this week after missing the last two games with injury. That’s significant for the Spartans, who were without Glover, Gates, Marsh and Brown at wide receiver last week against Boston College.
This is the first time Ramil has appeared on the availability report. The redshirt freshman started at left tackle for Michigan State last week against the Eagles. This is also the first time Masunas and Willie will miss a game this season.

Brown and Tatum became injured in Michigan State’s week-one victory over Florida Atlantic. Head coach Jonathan Smith described both as long-term injuries. Offensive guard Kristian Phillips and Gavin Broscious, as well as safety Khalil Majeed, remain out for the season with injury.
Jake’s take
Michigan State would love to have Marsh, seemingly a game-time decision, back against the Buckeyes. Marsh made an impact as a deep target against Maryland and would add a different dynamic to the Spartan offense, should he play. For now, Glover’s return helps take some pressure off of Montorie Foster and Aziah Johnson at the receiver position.
Should Ramil not play against Ohio State, Michigan State would likely move Brandon Baldwin, who shifted to right guard against Boston College, back to left tackle. That would likely elevate Dallas Fincher to the starting right guard spot. Michigan State and Ramil would both benefit, though, if the tackle was able to go. The Spartans could use some continuity along their offensive line, which has seen its share of injuries this season.
