Michigan State senior Payton Thorne welcomes competition at QB during spring football

Payton Thorne ranks among the Top 10 all-time at Michigan State quarterbacks in several categories, but he isn't happy with his on-field production last season. And believe it or not, Thorne absolutely welcomes competition for the starting job this season. “I am not trying to compete against anyone in my position group. I am competing against the defense, playing against the defense, breaking down the defense, and being as good as I can be personally. Then being a leader for our team and taking care of the guys around me and helping everybody else get better."
