Michigan State signs 2024 three-star DB Keshawn Williams
2024 Murfeesboro (Tenn.) Riverdale High School three-star defensive back Keshawn Williams signed with Michigan State on Wednesday.
The 6-foot, 180-pounder committed to former Michigan State interim head coach Harlon Barnett in October despite uncertainty within the program. Williams is the lone member of the Spartans’ 2024 class to commit during the 2023 season.
Williams chose the Spartans over offers from Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Southern, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State and Austin Peay. Many Power Five schools – namely Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Missouri – inquired about Williams, but were too late to offer. He took an unofficial visit to Alabama on Oct. 14.
Williams’ recruitment went under the radar mostly due to the fact that he tore his ACL during his junior season. Michigan State extended its offer off of Williams’ sophomore film and the first few games of his senior season.

Williams is the No. 1589 overall recruit in the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the No. 170 cornerback and the No. 47 player from Tennesse in his class.
Scouting report
Williams played both wide receiver and defense back for Riverdale High School. He is a physical player with good speed and strong ball skills. He will likely begin his career as a cornerback for Michigan State. Williams is a long corner with a knack for tracking the ball and a nose for contact. He flips his hips well and uses good bursts of speed to run with quick receivers. As a receiver, he showed the ability to high-point the ball and make a catch in tough situations. He’s still raw as far as learning the game is concerned.
Personal life
Williams was high school teammates with fellow Michigan State commitment and three-star cornerback Jaylen Thompson. Thompson and Riverdale head coach Will Kriesky continuously pushed Williams to Barnett and other Spartan coaches throughout Williams’ recruitment. Williams also has a background in basketball.
