Michigan State signs 2024 three-star RB Makhi Frazier
2024 McKinney (Texas) High School three-star running back Makhi Frazier signed with Michigan State on Wednesday.
Frazier has a stout build at 5-foot-10, 210 pounds. He committed to Michigan State on Dec. 12, following his official visit during the weekend of Dec. 8. A one-time Oregon State commit, Frazier chose to follow head coach Jonathan Smith and running backs coach Keith Bhonapha from Corvallis to East Lansing. His pledge solidified him as Michigan State’s first commitment of the Smith era.
Frazier earned offers from Arkansas, Boise State, Minnesota, Missouri and Oregon State, among others. He is the No. 1749 prospect, No. 138 running back and No. 242 player from Texas, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
Frazier played both running back and linebacker in high school. Multiple schools recruited him as a linebacker, including Minnesota. Michigan State recently hired Joe Rossi – Frazier’s primary recruiter with the Golden Gophers – as its new defensive coordinator.
However, Frazier always had more potential at running back under Smith. New Michigan State offensive line coach and run game coordinator Jim Michalczik will look to utilize Frazier’s wrecking-ball style in the coming years.
