Michigan State signed 2025 three-star Macomb (Mich.) Dakota offensive lineman Justin Bell on Wednesday.

Bell (6-8, 295) received an offer from Michigan State offensive line coach Jim Michalczik in mid-June, following an on-campus workout. One week later, Bell took an official visit to Michigan State. He committed shortly thereafter.

Bell took additional official visits to West Virginia and Indiana in June. He canceled a visit to Kansas to instead visit with the Spartans. Bell held additional offers from Toledo, Kent State and Bowling Green, among others.

Bell’s uncle, Dave Sucura, played offensive line at Michigan State from 1996-2001. He then worked as a graduate assistant for the Spartans from 2002-05. Bell grew up close to the program as a result of the connection.

Bell is the No. 1,328 prospect, No. 83 offensive tackle and No. 25 player from Michigan in the 2025 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He and 2025 three-star Murrieta Valley (Calif.) prospect Drew Nichols make up the the Spartans’ offensive line class.

Bell’s high school teammate, three-star linebacker DiMari Malone, also signed with Michigan State on Wednesday.

Scouting summary

Bell moves well for a player of his size. He has quick feet and a long reach, and he worked during his senior season to get better with his hands. He’s a physical lineman who has a drive to get better.

This year, Dakota High School made it to the MHSAA Division I regional final, where it fell to eventual state champion Cass Tech, 21-14. The Cougars finished 10-2 on the season.
