Michigan State signs 2025 three-star Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter DB George Mullins

Michigan State signed 2025 three-star Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter defensive back George Mullins on Wednesday.
Mullins (6-2, 170) committed to the Spartans back in June after his official visit. He took additional official visits to Mississippi State, Toledo, Oregon State and Central Florida. He held other offers from West Virginia, Central Florida, Mississippi State, Illinois and Louisville, among others.
Mullins has a long-standing relationship with Michigan State secondary coach Blue Adams, who previously offered Mullins during this time at Oregon State. Oregon State was one of Mullins’ first offers back in May 2023.
Mullins is the No. 1,072 prospect, No. 103 cornerback and No. 136 player from Florida in the 2025 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Scouting summary
Mullins built a strong reputation for locking down his side of the field at South Sumter High School. He also played wide receiver for South Sumter.
Mullins has plus speed, as he also ran track in high school. He possesses long arms, which makes him an intriguing safety prospect at the college level. A versatile prospect nonetheless, Mullins could start out at cornerback in East Lansing.
Mullins logged 28 tackles, two interceptions and three pass deflections in 10 games this past fall. South Sumter finished 4-6 on the season, with a 2-1 record in the Florida 3A District 5.
