Michigan State will host class of 2025 defensive back Aydan West for an official visit over the weekend of June 21, he tells SpartanMag.com. The Spartans will get the final at-bat in the recruitment with the official visit, as West is currently on a trip to Wake Forest for an official visit, also visiting West Virginia, Virginia, and Cincinnati this month.

West will announce his final decision on June 25, shortly after returning home from East Lansing. Michigan State will look to vault themselves to the top of the list before the final decision date.

Cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin extended the offer to the Gaithersbug (MD) Quince Orchard High School cornerback on June 4. West (6-1, 180) holds other offers from Penn State, Duke, Pittsburgh, and others.

West is ranked a three-star, the No. 905 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 76 cornerback, and the No. 26 recruit in Maryland.

“I’m hoping to get a glimpse of that Michigan State tradition,” West said. “I want to get a fast understanding of how I would like the school and the coaches. I would love to get with the team and see if I could see myself in the trenches with them the next three to four years.”

West first heard from Spartan offensive line coach Jim Michalczik as he stopped by his school earlier this spring to scout teammate Tristan Pierre. West’s first time speaking with Martin was during the offer.

“Today was actually their first time contacting me,” West said. “Other than when their offensive line coach came up to the school to see a player on my o-line,” West said. “He said he liked my look and liked how I talked. (Michalczik) said he was going to show the DB coach my film. Today, he looked at it and said he was sold on my film and loved what he saw. He said he needs a guy like me in his room.”

“They loved my footwork, my speed, my confidence, my leadership, and just my passion for the game.”
