Michigan State to host 2025 Hawaii OL Houston Kaahaaina-Torres for summer OV as he eyes spring visit as well
Michigan State will welcome class of 2025 offensive lineman Houston Kaahaaina-Torres, of Honolulu (HI) St. Louis High School for an official visit over the weekend of June 7-9. Kaahaaina-Torres is the first official visit locked in for the summer by Jonathan Smith and the new Spartan staff.
Kaahaaina-Torres (6-3, 290) is ranked the No. 522 overall recruit in the class of 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 40 interior offensive lineman and the No. 1 recruit in Hawaii. His other offers include Nebraska, Utah, Arizona, and others. He will take official visits to Nebraska and Utah in June as well, along with a trip to Arizona State for April.
Michigan State offensive line coach Jim Michalczik visited St. Louis High, along with defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa during the January evaluation period. The Spartans offered on Jan. 19. St. Louis High in Honolulu is also home to class of 2024 Michigan State offensive line signee Rustin Young.
Michalczik, Suiaunoa, and others on the new Spartan staff had been in touch with the Hawaii native, stretching back to their time at Oregon State. He was offered by the Beavers in May of 2022.
“I think they’ve always been able to do more with less and that’s because of Coach (Jonathan) Smith,” Kaahaaina-Torres previously told SpartanMag.com. “My pops and I always talk about that staff and the impression they’ve left on our family. They are good men, building strong men and winning a national championship soon.”

The three-star interior lineman tells SpartanMag.com he is also hoping to visit East Lansing for an unofficial visit, tentatively looking at the weekend of March 28-30.
“I want to see how the locker room meshes,” Kaahaaina-Torres said. “I can’t wait to come through and learn more about the Michigan State culture. Coach M likes my growth, both physically and mentally.”
Kaahaaina-Torres calls Michigan State a ‘top three school’ for him ahead of the two upcoming trips to East Lansing.
“It’s definitely one of my top choices so my parents want me to get on campus to check it out,” He said. “I’m planning on committing in June or July so I want to get these trips out of the way as soon as possible.”
