CLEVELAND - Tom Izzo loves the bleary-eyed demands of the NCAA Tournament, especially when beginning to dive into a one-day prep just hours after a First Round tournament victory. That was the case late on Friday night, early Saturday morning, as he digested the Spartans’ 87-62 victory over Bryant University at Rocket Arena. The clock was closing in on 1 a.m. when the Spartans were still working to clear out the locker room, head back to the hotel and begin preparation for Sunday’s Second Round game against No. 10 seed New Mexico. There were plans for a post-game meal, and some initial film study for players on the Lobos. “You don’t think these guys are going to go back to the hotel and go straight to bed, do you?” Izzo rhetorically asked a group of reporters outside the locker room, following the game. More inside.
