Nick Marsh on Michigan State, 'It's like extended family, far from home'
River Rouge, Mich. – Four-star wide receiver recruit Nick Marsh announced on Friday that he is committing to Michigan State – again.
Marsh, ranked the No. 120 player in the country and the No. 3 player in Michigan by the On3 Industry Rankings, committed to the Spartans over Penn State, Pittsburgh and Kansas. He had offers from more than 30 schools.
Twelve months ago, Marsh committed to the Spartans, but then de-committed in March in order to re-open his recruitment to June official visits.
After making those visits, his heart and mind found their way back to Michigan State. He said he made his mind up on Thursday, but began leaning heavily toward Michigan State in the last two weeks, since his official visit to East Lansing on June 23.

“Making the decision was pretty tough but I wanted to make this decision based off how I felt as far as home,” Marsh told a gathering of supporters, teammates and high school officials at the River Rouge High School Auditorium on Friday. “Coming to Rouge, I wasn’t too familiar with it, but everyone treated me like family. Making the decision to go to college, I wanted to be exactly like coming to Rouge. So that was a big part of my commitment.
“The reason I chose Michigan State is it’s not too close to home and it’s not too far. I would love for all of you to come to games and support and we just bond like family.
“Michigan State, the fans, the coaches, everyone, is like family. It’s like extended family far from home.”
