Rehash & Analysis: Penn State hammers Michigan State, 42-0; Jonathan Smith rumblings increase

Michigan State fans showed up in good numbers, nearly filling the NFL home of the Detroit Lions. The beer was cold, the Spartan Marching Band sounded great in an indoor stadium, rosy cheeks were jolly, but the Spartan football team failed to provide any sustained punches.  Now, attention shifts to the West Coast where Oregon State’s Jonathan Smith has emerged as the leading candidate for the vacant Michigan State head coaching job.
