Where Michigan State commitments land in the new On300 rankings
On3 released its updated On300 rankings for the 2024 recruiting class on Monday and a couple Michigan State commits saw a change in their standing. Of the 13 commitments in the Spartan 2024 class, two land in the On300.
Michigan State pledge Reggie Powers saw a massive bump in ranking, going from an unranked four-star, to No. 210 in the On3 Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 21 safety in the country and the No. 10 recruit in Ohio. Powers, of Dayton (OH) Centerville High School has been committed to Michigan State since June, reaffirming his commitment to SpartanMag.com after the suspension/firing of Mel Tucker.
On3 director of scouting/rankings Charles Power had this to say about Reggie Powers early senior season play…
“The Dayton (Ohio) Centerville prospect has some of the best early senior video we’ve seen at the position. Powers is a highly instinctual, physical defender who flies around the field. He registers as a solid athlete in the combine setting, but plays even faster on Friday nights. He triggers quickly and explodes into ball carriers on contact. Powers is a dangerous blitzer and has the capability to play in the box. He’s also shown good range and awareness in deep coverage. The effort level, play speed and tone-setting physicality are what you want to see from a safety prospect.”

Spartan commitment Nick Marsh saw a slight drop, falling from the No. 151 overall recruit, to the No. 166 overall recruit in the 2024 On3 Rankings Marsh is now ranked the No. 30 wide receiver in his class and the No. 2 recruit in Michigan.
The four-star receiver is off to a strong start to his senior season, doing it all on offense for Detroit (MI) River Rouge High School. Playing special teams and quarterback at times for Rouge, Marsh has demonstrated elite speed, as we already know about his length and high pointing abilities. The Spartans will look to keep Marsh in the fold, as he is still the highest ranked recruit in the Michigan State class.
