The updated 2026 On300 Rankings were released Monday as several Michigan State commitments and targets received a boost in their ratings. In this article we will briefly run through the changes and where targets of notice stand.

QB commit Kayd Coffman slides up the rankings

The four-star Michigan State quarterback commitment is now ranked the No. 195 overall recruit by On3. Coffman is also ranked the No. 2 recruit in Michigan (behind only offensive lineman Greg Patrick) and the No. 15 QB in his class.

Coffman committed to the Spartans over offers from Ole Miss, Iowa State, Duke, Syracuse, and others in early February. He is now locked in and focused on recruiting others to join the Spartan 2026 class.

The 2026 quarterback commitment becomes the highest rated Michigan State quarterback commitment since Sam Leavitt in the class of 2024. Leavitt was ranked the No. 76 overall recruit and the No. 7 quarterback in his class according to the 2024 On3 Rankings.

OL target Greg Patrick remains in the top100

Michigan State is making a heavy push for the in-state offensive lineman, as Patrick remains in the On3 top100, checking in at the No. 93 overall recruit, the No. 7 interior lineman, and the No. 1 recruit in Michigan.

Patrick (6-4, 280) could slot in as an interior lineman, or as a tackle at the next level. Michigan State is battling other Midwest heavyweights, including Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, and others in the race for Patrick. He will take an official visit to East Lansing during the weekend of June 7.

Spartan legacy RB target Kory Amachree moves to four-star status

Another Spartan legacy recruit has moved into four-star territory in the 2026 class, as four-star running back Kory Amachree checks in as the No. 243 overall recruit in the new 2026 On300. Amachree (6-0, 195) is also ranked the No. 24 running back in his class and the No. 4 recruit in Michigan.

The running back will also take an unofficial visit to Michigan in March. He has official visits scheduled with Kansas (April 5), Purdue (April 18), Northwester (May 10), Indiana (June 14), and Pittsburgh (June 20).

Other moves of note:

Michigan State will host four-star offensive tackle Kelvin Obot, of Fruitland (ID) High School, as Obot is the highest ranked visitor on the SpartanMag.com spring visitor list.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive tackle is ranked the No. 37 overall recruit in his class and the No. 5 overall recruit at his position. He was previously ranked the No. 118 overall recruit in his class by On3. Obot will visit East Lansing on March 22 for a spring practice unofficial visit.

Michigan State target Salesi Moa moved up 20 spots to the No. 59 overall recruit in his class, according to On3. Moa is brother of current Spartan Aisea Moa. He visited Michigan State with his brother back in January, which led to the commitment of Aisea to the Spartans. The older brother transferred from BYU.

-Safety CJ Hester, of Cocoa (FL) High School, moved up over 100 spots, checking in as the No. 106 overall recruit in his class in the new rankings. Hester was offered by Michigan State safeties coach James Adams upon his arrival to East Lansing.

Hester tells SpartanMag.com he plans to visit Michigan State for a spring practice in April, as he still irons out the exact plans. His other offers include Florida, Ole Miss, Iowa, and more.

Michigan State welcomed Belleville (IL) West High School cornerback Nick Hankins for an unofficial visit in January, as he holds a Spartan offer as well. Hankins moved up nearly 300 spots, landing as the No. 179 overall recruit in the On3 rankings. He was previously ranked as the No. 340 overall recruit.

Hankins (6-1, 185) holds other offers from Tennessee, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Ole Miss, Stanford, and more.
