Recruitment
Michigan made a hard push for Earls soon after the arrival of new secondary coach LaMar Morgan. However, Earls committed to South Carolina before flipping to Georgia in the summer. Morgan never gave up on Earls. He worked on the elite prospect throughout the fall and got him on campus for two visits. Earls once again made a commitment switch and sided with the Wolverines in early November.
He Said It
“After the most recent visit for the Michigan State game, I knew. I was leaning towards them. I wanted to take another visit to confirm everything, and it definitely did. I enjoyed being around the people again and the fans. They played a big part. I want to be somewhere that wants me for me.”

They Said It
“I tell people this all the time, but he has a rare breed of talent that you don’t see too often. With his size, his length and his speed, he’s just a different type of player. He’s what I call a ‘freak’ on the field. But he also has character. He’s a great kid and comes from a great family. He’s a hard worker. He’s everything you are looking for in a football player. I stand behind that. I’ve been in his corner since Day 1, and I’m going to continue to be in his corner.” — Kytwan Heath, private trainer
Scouting Report
“Shamari Earls is one of the more gifted corner prospects in the 2025 cycle. I think you have to start off with his physical traits when you’re talking about him. He’s close to 6-foot-2 and over 200 pounds. That makes him the heaviest top corner in the country. He has good length. His arms around 33 inches. He’s a fantastic athlete in track and field. He ran in the 10.8 range in the 100-meter. He has good 200-meter times, long jump and is an outstanding high jumper. And that’s without doing track in the outdoor season.” — On3 Rankings Director Charles Power
