Blake Corum wears No. 2 because of Derek Jeter — now he's signed an NIL deal with the baseball legend's company
Michigan Wolverines football senior star running back Blake Corum has signed an NIL deal with Greatness Wins, a clothing brand founded by former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and Untuckit founder Chris Riccobono.
Corum, who rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, finishing seventh in Heisman Trophy voting, is the company’s first student-athlete brand ambassador promoting its athletic wear that is considered “premium performance apparel.” Corum was represented by Valiant Management, run by former U-M football player Jared Wangler, in the deal.
The Michigan running back has long been a Jeter fan, making this a full-circle moment.

“After wearing the No. 2 for my whole life because of Derek Jeter, it feels surreal to be working alongside him and the Greatness Wins team in this new chapter, as I head into my last season of college football,” Corum said in a statement.
The site reported that Corum will “wear Greatness Wins apparel off the field and appear in the brand’s social media campaign.”
Jeter is a Michigan alum, who enrolled at the school before turning professional with the New York Yankees. He’s attended games at The Big House over the years, including the Wolverines’ 29-7 beatdown of Michigan State last October.

“Blake’s talent, work ethic, resiliency and integrity make him an exceptional athlete and great teammate,” Jeter said. “At Greatness Wins, we talk about greatness being a mentality, and that’s a spirit that Corum shares. We’re really looking forward to working with him and watching what he’s able to continue to accomplish.”
Corum has been active in the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor community, notably donating turkeys to low-income families on Thanksgiving. His philanthropic ways played a factor in Greatness Wins wanting to team up with him.
“In deciding to enter the NIL space, it was important to us to partner with an athlete who represents our core values and displays greatness both on and off the field,” Riccobono said. “We are excited to have Blake join our team and to provide him with the best athletic apparel as he dedicates himself to being the best he can be.”
Corum has a $1.1 million On3 NIL Valuation, the 13th-highest in college football. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation establishes the overall NIL market and projected 12-month growth rate by measuring two categories, Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index.
