BREAKING: Darrius Clemons announces his commitment to Michigan
Michigan has landed a Signing Day commitment from 2022 Westview (OR.) four-star wide receiver Darrius Clemons.
Darrius Clemons is ranked as the No. 98 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The On3 Consensus also ranks Clemons as the No. 13 receiver and the top overall player in Oregon.
Clemons was down to Auburn and Oregon for the later stages of his recruitment, but everything changed after Mario Cristobal left Oregon for Miami. Michigan re-entered the picture, as did Miami. The Wolverines pushed to host the four-star on a visit the weekend before National Signing Day. The visit, paired with the efforts of head coach Jim Harbaugh, safeties coach Ron Bellamy and offensive coordinator Josh Gattis blew Clemons and his father away.
On top of that, Clemons is originally from Michigan and childhood friends with Wolverines freshman wide receiver Andrel Anthony, who played a factor in Clemons’ recruitment.

In Clemons, Michigan lands a big-framed reciever that can absolutely fly. With a verified 4.37 40 time to his name, he brings rare speed at 6-foot-3.
Here’s Charles Power’s, On3 Director of Scouting & Rankings, take on Clemons.
“Darrius Clemons has one of the best combinations of play speed and size among wide receivers in the 2022 cycle. He’s a legit field-stretcher as a vertical threat at 6-foot-3. Clemons bursts off the snap and eats up cornerbacks’ cushions quickly. He’s been a big-play threat for the last few seasons and was productive as a junior despite moving to a new school in Utah. We’ve seen Clemons continue to show some strong signs as a senior. I think back to his highlight one-handed catch as a ‘wow’ moment. He put up some strong production this fall, scoring 17 touchdowns with a high yards per catch. It should be noted Clemons doesn’t face great competition, but the tools are enough to get excited about. I really like this addition for Michigan. We feel like Clemons is one of the better wide receivers nationally and are looking forward to seeing him at the All-American Bowl.”
