Dane Brugler 7-round mock draft includes four Michigan stars on night one

The Michigan Wolverines will have a top-heavy representation at the 2025 NFL Draft with as many as four potential first-round picks. Defensive tackles Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, cornerback Will Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland are all highly regarded and could lead the way in the event.
In a 7-round mock draft by Dane Brugler of The Athletic, all four are indeed selected in the first round. Seven players in total were selected in the draft analyst’s latest exercise.
Here’s a look at where each landed and what he said about the top contenders to go early.
Defensive tackle Mason Graham: Las Vegas Raiders (First round, No. 6 overall)
2024 stats: 46 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 pass defended (12 games)
What Brugler said: Newly hired general manager John Spytek prioritizes pass rush over everything else on defense. Graham doesn’t have ideal length and isn’t on the same level as a Quinnen Williams-type prospect, but he deconstructs blocks consistently and becomes a problem for offenses. Spytek and his boss, Tom Brady, being Michigan alums doesn’t hurt, either.
Tight end Colston Loveland: Indianapolis Colts (First round, No. 14 overall)
2024 stats: 56 receptions for 582 yards, 5 TD (10 games)
What Brugler said: I’m sure there is Loveland-to-Indy fatigue because it is a frequent pairing in mock drafts, but I’m not switching things up for the sake of variety. With his athleticism and pass-catching skills, Loveland is one of the best weapons this draft class has to offer and would upgrade the Colts’ offense immediately.
Defensive tackle Kenneth Grant: Los Angeles Chargers (First round, No. 22 overall)
2024 stats: 32 total tackles, 3 sacks, 2 fumbles recovered, 5 passes defended (12 games)
What Brugler said: The Chargers lost Poona Ford in free agency and need to make upgrades on the interior of their defensive line. Grant, who is obviously familiar with the Chargers’ scheme and coaching under Jim Harbaugh, offers the size of a nose tackle with the movement skills of a gap penetrator.

Cornerback Will Johnson: Green Bay Packers (First round, No. 23 overall)
2024 stats: 14 total tackles, 2 INT (2 for TD), 3 passes defended (6 games)
What Brugler said: I wouldn’t be surprised to see Johnson go as high as No. 11 to the 49ers, but he might still be on the board in the 20s. He declined to run the 40-yard dash at his pro day and the medicals will be a factor for several teams, but the tape shows a really good football player.
EDGE Josaiah Stewart: Tennessee Titans (Fourth round, No. 120 overall)
2024 stats: 33 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles (11 games)
Josaiah Stewart still has second-round buzz, and reportedly took a top-30 visit to the local Detroit Lions recently. However, he slides into the fourth round here.
OT Myles Hinton: Buffalo Bills (Fifth round, No. 173 overall)
2024 stats: Started 12 games
The Michigan offensive tackle has always looked the part on the field and put together his best season last year, working himself into draftable status.
RB Kalel Mullings: New England Patriots (Seventh round, No. 243 overall)
2024 stats: 185 carries for 948 yards, 12 touchdowns, 6 receptions for 35 yards (12 games)
Mullings’ work during the pre-draft process has been much more of the meeting than physical variety, but he has a chance to add some value and depth to an NFL team that wants to fill out its running back rotation. There is plenty left in the tank for Michigan’s bellcow.
