Decision Primer: Four-star Michigan WR target I'Marion Stewart ready to make call
I’Marion Stewart is ready to make his decision.
The four-star Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood wide receiver will announce his commitment on Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET live at OT7 Nationals in Los Angeles.
Stewart, who is ranked as the No. 54 wide receiver and No. 314 overall recruit nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking, has a final four of Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Here is a closer look at where things stand.
Why It Will Be Michigan
All signs point to Michigan in this recruitment. In fact, Michigan has a 95.8 percent chance of landing Stewart going into his decision, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. I’ve had my prediction in since last September and still feel extremely confident in that pick. It was around that time that Michigan really took command of Stewart’s recruitment. Stewart has visited Michigan more than any other school and was just on campus last weekend for his official visit. It appears wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, area recruiter Sherrone Moore and the rest of the staff have done enough to win this recruitment.

Why It Won’t Be Michigan
Stewart has been a Michigan lean for a long time but has yet to make a decision. Sometimes, recruitments like that don’t go in the Wolverines’ favor. Wisconsin has also made a huge push here. The Badgers got him in for an unofficial visit in the winter and were rewarded with an official visit to kick off June. New Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell has made Stewart a top priority and has quietly helped the Badgers build momentum on the trail. Wisconsin doesn’t beat Michigan in head-to-head recruitments often but has done a really nice job with Stewart as of late. Oregon and Tennessee are two NIL friendly programs and are always recruiting wildcards.
EJ’s Prediction
While Wisconsin tried to make things interesting, I don’t think the Badgers did enough. As mentioned, I feel very confident in my prediction going into Stewart’s announcement and would be extremely surprised if he snubbed the Wolverines. Stewart has special relationships with Moore and Bellamy and is part of the same club 7v7 program, Midwest Boom, that produced U-M quarterback JJ McCarthy and wide receiver Tyler Morris. Michigan has built a strong Chicagoland pipeline, and Stewart should be the next prospect to keep it flowing.
