Andrew Sprague is ready to make his decision.

The On300 offensive lineman out of Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst will announce his commitment on Friday via his personal Instagram at 3 p.m. ET.

Sprague, who is ranked as the No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 135 overall recruit nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking, has Michigan in his final group along with LSU, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, USC and a few others.

Here is a closer look at where things stand.

Why It Will Be Michigan

Michigan hosted Sprague for a couple of visits last year and got him back on campus for another unofficial visit for the spring game last weekend. Sprague initially planned to wait to make a summer official visit but instead decided to make it to the game. This marked a significant shift in his recruitment. Michigan started trending just before he arrived in Ann Arbor, and the buzz is U-M offensive line coach Sherrone Moore and company did enough to win him over. Sprague was set to visit USC this weekend, but it looks like that trip will not be happening. Michigan is the heavy favorite going into today’s announcement.

Why It Won’t Be Michigan

While all signs point to Michigan, Sprague does have some very NIL friendly schools on his list. Oregon definitely comes to mind as a program that can steal a recruit at the last minute. Additionally, Notre Dame and Oklahoma have done a great job of recruiting the state of Missouri in recent cycles. USC is also one to keep an eye on. As mentioned, the Trojans were scheduled to get him on campus just a day after his decision. Overall, there is plenty of top tier competition in this recruitment.

EJ’s Prediction

I logged a prediction for Michigan going into Sprague’s spring game visit and feel even more confident coming out of his trip to Ann Arbor. Michigan offensive line recruiting is red hot right now, and Moore has everything to sell after making history by winning back-to-back Joe Moore Awards. Sprague moved up his visit to Michigan for a reason. Spots are going fast upfront, and I think the towering tackle wants to lock his in. I’m sticking with Michigan.
