Following the future: How Michigan commits performed over the weekend

Michigan commits were back on the field this weekend.

With the high school football season now underway, future Wolverines are doing their best to impress on Friday nights. Here is a quick look at how they performed.

QB Carter Smith, Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot

The Skinny: Smith completed 9-of-15 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns and added 33 yards and another score on the ground in Bishop Verot’s 55-12 win over Tampa (Fla.) Catholic.

QB Brady Hart, Cocoa (Fla.) High (2026)

The Skinny: Hart completed 18-of-30 passes for 331 yards and five touchdowns in Cocoa’s 51-0 blowout win over Dayton Beach (Fla.) Mainland.

RB Donovan Johnson, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

The Skinny: Johnson rushed for four yards on just one carry in IMG’s 27-14 win over Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic. Johnson has been limited early in the season after tearing his ACL last year.

RB Jasper Parker, New Orleans (La.) Archbishop Shaw

The Skinny: Parker and Archbishop Shaw opened the season with a bye week.

WR Andrew Marsh, Katy (Texas) Jordan

The Skinny: Marsh recorded four receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns and also returned a kick 90 yards for another score in Jordan’s 66-20 win over Cypress (Texas) Creek.

WR Jacob Washington, New Orleans (La.) Archbishop Shaw

The Skinny: Washington and Archbishop Shaw opened the season with a bye week.

TE Andrew Olesh, Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh

The Skinny: Olesh recorded five receptions for 176 yards in Southern Lehigh’s 32-20 loss to Schuylkill Haven (Pa.) Blue Mountain.

TE Eli Owens, Alcoa (Tenn.) High

The Skinny: Owens was limited to one reception but recorded 10 solo tackles on defense in Alcoa’s 24-22 win over Knoxville (Tenn.) Bearden.

The Skinny: Gach recorded a few tackles and led the way along the offensive line in Groves’ 35-14 win over Detroit (Mich.) Jesuit.

EDGE Jaylen Williams, Palatine (Ill.) High

The Skinny: Williams and Palatine fell to St. Charles (Ill.) North, 28-27. No stats were available from the contest.
