Four Michigan football players land on Mel Kiper Jr.'s 2023 NFL Draft position rankings
Michigan Wolverines football is not projected to have a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft — at least not yet — but the Maize and Blue will certainly see some of their products come off the board next spring. Four landed on ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr.’s newly-released position rankings.
The 2022 season is a big one for Michigan, which is coming off winning the Big Ten title and making the College Football Playoff, but also has implications for several players hoping to be drafted next spring. Here’s a look at the four that made Kiper’s rankings, which include 10 players at each position.

Graduate Jake Moody: No. 3 kicker
A three-time All-Big Ten honoree, Jake Moody was a 2021 consensus All-American and Michigan’s first ever Lou Groza Award winner, which is handed out to the nation’s top kicker. He led the team with 125 points, the second-highest single-season total in program history and most-ever by a kicker, nailing 23 of his 25 field goal attempts with a program-record 56 extra points. He also sailed 98 kickoffs with a 62.8-yard average and 65 touchbacks.
Graduate Olusegun Oluwatimi: No. 4 center
Olusegun Oluwatimi, a newcomer from Virginia, was a finalist for the Rimington Award last season and was one of the top transfer additions in the Big Ten this offseason. This projection could put Oluwatimi in the first round, with four interior offensive lineman having been taken in the opening round in 2022.

Senior Erick All: No. 8 tight end
Erick All was an All-Big Ten honorable mention last season, when he caught 38 passes for 437 yards — both marks ranked second on the Michigan team — and scored two touchdowns. The highlight of his year was a 47-yard touchdown catch and run that served as the game-winner at Penn State.
Graduate Ryan Hayes: No. 8 offensive tackle
Ryan Hayes is set to be a three-year starter on the Michigan offensive line, and helped the group win the Joe Moore Award last season. He’s opened 18 career games, and he allowed 27 pressures and three sacks last season, per Pro Football Focus.
Four offensive tackles were picked in the first round this past spring, and eight came off the board before the midway point of the third round. This projection pegs Hayes as a Day 1 or Day 2 pick
