Jim Harbaugh 'changed his mind,' to remain the head coach at Michigan
Yesterday, sources disclosed that Jim Harbaugh was flying to Minnesota to sign a contract to be the Vikings’ next coach. Today, the Michigan coach ended speculation in calling A.D. Warde Manuel and telling him he would remain at U-M.
According to the Athletic, Harbaugh “changed his mind” after the interview.
Harbaugh has a contract extension on the table and will likely sign in the days to come.
It seemed a foregone conclusion Harbaugh would become the next Vikings head coach. Those close to him said he boarded a plane with the intention of signing a deal.
Instead, per the Athletic, he got cold feet and “changed his mind” after the interview.
Michigan had been conducting a search for potential candidates to replace the head coach, both internal and external. Instead, Harbaugh will stay and look for a new defensive coordinator for his staff.
