Kaleb Webb recaps Michigan official visit, updates recruitment
2022 McEachern (Ga.) wide reciever Kaleb Webb committed to East Carolina in late June, just weeks after landing an offer from the Pirates. Since committing, Webb has landed offers from the likes of Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville and Michigan.
The late-rising senior has been the go-to weapon for McEachern, who fended off South Gwinnett in double overtime in the first round of the GHSAA playoffs Friday night.
Webb played a crucial role in the Indians win, coming up with two touchdowns, and all but scoring a third, getting tackled at the one-yard line to set up a McEachern score.
Michigan offered Webb in late October, who called it a “dream come true.” Webb quickly scheduled an official visit to Michigan, and made the trip to Ann Arbor last weekend with his teammate, 2022 Coastal Carolina quarterback commit Bryce Archie to see the Wolverines defeat Indiana.
“They actually impressed me more than I thought,” he said of the visit. “They have a real good academic program, as well as connections throughout major, which will be communications. So help me strive in that field, I would say.”
On the field, head coach Jim Harbaugh’s reputation precedes him, making the Wolverines an attractive option.
“On the football portion, I think they’re ranked number six in the country right now,” Webb said. “So, you’re playing high level football, and then you’re going to get a competitive coach in Coach Harbaugh, he’s going to push you to be great. And he’s put multiple people in the league so that’s somebody you want to play for.”

After meeting Harbaugh and the Michigan coaching staff, one thing in particular has the Wolverines standing out.
“They appreciate you not just what you can do on the field, but what you can do off the field at Michigan,” he said. “So I feel like that’s a big part.”
Webb, who’s also considering Tennessee and Louisville, has emphasized the importance of off-field development in his recruitment and the Wolverines certainly have not hurt themselves in that department.
The senior, who remains committed to East Carolina, is planning an official visit to Tennessee early next month, his third visit to Knoxville this season, and plans to make a decision and sign by the Early Signing Period in December.
Webb would be Michigan’s second wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class. As it stands, Michigan holds just one wide receiver commit in Nazareth Academy four-star Tyler Morris, who’s coming off a torn ACL.
Kaleb Webb ranks as a three-star prospect the No. 599 prospect in the On3 consensus rankings.
