Michigan has already sent out 79 offers in the 2027 class, and a lot of them earned a spot in On3’s first official rankings of the cycle. The initial On300 is officially public, setting the foundation for the next 1.5 years of evaluations.

This cycle could be one of the more talented in-state classes in recent memory. A total of seven recruits from Michigan made the first On300. The Wolverines are in the mix for many of the nation’s elite quarterback prospects, and Dakota Guerrant maintained his standing as an elite receiver recruit.

Michigan recruiting targets debut in ‘27 On300

New Jersey athlete Xavier Sabb leads the way as the No. 7 recruit in the nation. He’s also the top-ranked ATH in the class.

Linebacker Cooper Witten checks in as the No. 12 recruit in the country, climbing up from No. 37 nationally in On3’s initial Top 100 watch list. Michigan offered in January, and he visited the Wolverines last week.

Guerrant remains the No. 1 recruit in Michigan and checks in as the No. 3 wide receiver nationally, dropping 4 spots to No. 21 nationally. Quarterback Kavian Bryant, the No. 26 recruit in the country, also dropped slightly from No. 14 to No. 26. He will visit Ann Arbor April 1.

Michigan offered Quentin Burrell, a wide receiver from Chicago, in January. He visited the Wolverines last weekend and then debuted in the On300 as the No. 48 recruit in the country. Quarterback Peter Bourque checked in right behind him, climbing from No. 82 to No. 49 in this update. The Massachusetts signal-caller also spent Saturday with Michigan.

Dynamic edge rusher Recarder Kitchen, a 6-5 lineman from Muskegon (Mich.) High, checked in at No. 56 in the rankings update after debuting as the No. 3 recruit in the country previously.

Cornerback Ashton Alston will return to Ann Arbor April 12 after visiting in January, and he will do so as the No. 84 recruit in the country. Quarterback Trae Taylor, who plans on visiting the Wolverines Tuesday, checks in just a couple of spots below him at No. 86 in his On300 debut. Fellow signal-caller Keegan Croucher visited Saturday and now ranks No. 107 nationally.

Quarterback Elijah Haven was the nation’s No. 1 quarterback in the initial Top 100 and now checks in at No. 120 nationally. Cornerback Larry Moon, who visited Ann Arbor last fall, checked in at No. 129 nationally, a drop from his No. 86 spot in the previous watch list.

Michigan’s quarterback board is packed with On300 athletes. Peyton Houston plans on visiting the program April 3, and he’s now the No. 157 recruit in the country. In-state tight end Anthony Cartwright is now ranked No. 173 after debuting at No. 43 in the previous update.

Under-the-radar Kalamazoo (Mich.) Central High offensive tackle Dewey Young debuted at No. 177 in the rankings. He does not hold a Power Four offer yet, but that will change. Antwoine Higgins, an edge rusher from Ohio, now ranks No. 178 nationally after slotting in at No. 92 previously. He visited Michigan Saturday.

Jaxx DeJean, the younger brother of former Iowa standout Cooper DeJean, is now classified as a tight end, not an athlete, and checks in at No. 191 in the class after debuting at No. 19 in the last update. He plans on visiting Michigan March 29. Quarterback Malachi Zeigler will be on campus the same day, and he is the No. 214 recruit in the country after dropping from No. 32.

Tight end Holden Niemi checked in directly behind the signal-caller at No. 215 nationally. He’s an in-state recruit from Dexter (Mich.) and recently named Florida his leader.

Coming off of a trip to Ann Arbor last week, Pennsylvania tackle Jimmy Kalis is the No. 222 prospect in the nation. Michigan offered in-state safety Gideon Gash in January, and he debuted at No. 230 in the rankings. Priority flip target and Alabama commit Alexander Ward stopped by campus last week. He’s the No. 232 recruit nationally.

Jameer Henry, an offensive tackle from Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King High, is now the No. 251 recruit in the class. Sibling legacy recruit Jaxon Holly, the younger brother of Michigan freshman Julius Holly, rounds out the list at No. 280 in the On300.
