Michigan Wolverines football is back-to-back Big Ten champions and has made the last two College Football Playoffs. The Maize and Blue had very little roster and staff turnover, and are looking to make a push at the national championship. FanDuel Sportsbook came out with early over/under regular-season win totals for several teams across college football, and Michigan’s is set at 10.5.

Only Georgia (11.5) has a higher projection than Michigan, and Ohio State is tied with the Wolverines at 10.5. The two teams will meet at the end of the season in Ann Arbor, of course, with most predicting the Big Ten East championship will be on the line for a third-straight season.

Georgia is looking to three-peat as national champions, avoids playing Alabama and LSU — two other expected top contenders in the SEC — and has loads of talent coming back.

The Bulldogs are the favorite to win the national championship, per FanDuel Sportsbook, at +220. Alabama (+500), Ohio State (+700) and Michigan (+1000) are the others right in the mix. SC (+1600) and Florida State (+1800) are slightly longer shots.

Michigan begins the season with three home non-conference games against East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green, avoiding playing a Power Five team out of league play for a second straight season. The Maize and Blue have home games against Rutgers (Sept. 23), Indiana (Oct. 14), Purdue (Nov. 4) and Ohio State (Nov. 25), and will travel to Nebraska (Sept. 30), Minnesota (Oct. 7), Michigan State (Oct. 21), Penn State (Nov. 11) and Maryland (Nov. 18).

The Wolverines’ three most marquee matchups are at Michigan State, at Penn State and against Ohio State. FanDuel released early point spreads for those contests, and has Michigan as a 15-point favorite over MSU, a 1.5-point favorite over PSU and a 1-point favorite over OSU. That means individually Michigan is projected to win each contest, but with how close the PSU and OSU games are expected to be, odds are the Maize and Blue will drop at least one of them.

Michigan ranks third in the country in ESPN.com’s preseason SP+ rankings, behind Georgia and Ohio State. The Wolverines slot eighth on offense and fourth on defense. Alabama, Penn State, Tennessee, LSU, Oregon, Texas and USC round out the top 10, in that order. Wisconsin, at No. 25, is the only other Big Ten team in the top 25.
