It’s never too early to start recruiting.

Michigan is in the heat of the 2024 cycle, but that hasn’t stopped the Wolverines from looking ahead. In fact, U-M is already putting offers on the table for eighth graders set to be freshmen this fall.

Here is a closer look at the first seven 2027 recruits to receive Michigan offers.

QB Trae Taylor, Crystal Lake (Ill.) Central — Taylor has been on radars for quite some time. The talented, young signal-caller plays club 7v7 with Sound Mind Sound Body’s 14U team and had a strong offseason on the circuit. Taylor has visited Michigan on numerous occasions and earned an offer after camping with the Wolverines last week. Taylor also holds early offers from Central Michigan, Marshall and Maryland.

RB Isaiah Garrett, Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods — Garrett is already being touted as the next great running back out of Ohio. His eighth grade frame makes him look like a man amongst boys, and he is expected to make a big impact at Winton Woods as a freshman. Michigan jumped on Garrett before Ohio State. Garrett also happens to be from the same high school that produces 2023 U-M signee Cameron Calhoun. Garrett also holds an early offer from Kentucky.

WR James Branch, Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy — The Michigan staff swung by St. Frances during the spring evaluation period and offered the incoming freshman. And it’s not hard to see why. Branch already stands at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds and looks the part of a top recruit. Expect him to make an immediate impact at St. Frances, which should put him on a national stage. He also boasts offers from Maryland and Penn State.

WR Ethan Feaster, DeSoto (Texas) High — Feaster has been on a tear this summer, earning offers from several major programs after strong camp performances. Michigan actually jumped in the mix after watching Feaster live at its satellite camp in Dallas earlier this month. The explosive Texan is from the same high school that produced Michigan defensive backs Gemon Green and German Green. He also hols offers from Arkansas, LSU, Oregon, TCU, Texas A&M and others.

WR Dakota Guerrant, Harper Woods (Mich.) High — Guerrant is being touted as the next great in-state prospect and comes from the same high school as 2024 On300 Michigan defensive back commit Jacob Oden. Guerrant also stars for the Sound Mind Sound Body program and has visited U-M on multiple occasions. Guerrant earned an offer from Michigan after a strong performance at the Wolverines’ satellite camp in Detroit. He also has offers from Central Michigan, Toledo and UMass.

WR Xavier Sabb, Glassboro (N.J.) High — The youngest brother of Michigan defensive back Keon Sabb, Xavier is making his own name on the recruiting trail and notched an offer from the Wolverines this spring. Xavier could very well end up being the most talented of the Sabb brothers and was named an Under All-American middle schooler. He also holds offers from the likes of Georgia, Ole Miss, Oregon and Penn State.

DL TK Cunningham, Miami (Fla.) Central — Cunningham is the younger brother of 2024 four-star defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham. While Michigan is no longer in play for his older sibling, the Wolverines will try to work on TK in the future. The 6-foot-4, 232-pounder is really blossoming into an intriguing, young prospect. He also holds offers from LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Penn State, USC and others.
