TheWolverine.com’s Clayton Sayfie and On3 college basketball analyst and former Michigan basketball player Ant Wright break down the Wolverines’ 75-69 win over Ohio State Sunday, the Big Ten Tournament bracket and more.

Wright said that Michigan’s draw isn’t the best it could’ve been, considering the Wolverines could’ve played Wisconsin if Illinois didn’t beat Iowa Sunday evening, but that the game against the Hoosiers is still a huge one — with a lot on the line for both teams — plus anything can happen after that.

“Hey, you’ve gotta beat who you gotta beat,” the analyst said. “It’s going to come down to where you’re going to have to beat an Indiana team where you needed the bench last time on the road, and it’s going to come down to who wants it more. Indiana lost a tough game at Purdue. They were in control late in the second half, and they kind of just let that one slip away.

“Indiana is on the right side of the bubble right now, but at the same time, that’s a fluid situation, where both teams kind of put themselves in this. You feel the winner of this game is in the tournament. There should be a lot of action in this game. There should be a lot of energy in this game, with both teams knowing what’s at stake and knowing that it’s not a guarantee that either are in the tournament.

“They just gotta win as many games as they possibly can at this point. Back in early February, I said I think they have to go 6-4 over the next 10 regular-season games. I said, win one game in the Big Ten Tournament. They’re there right now. Just win that one game. Everything else, in my opinion, is just going to be icing on the cake.”

Michigan and Indiana will tip off Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The winner will take on No. 1 seed Illinois in the quarterfinals. The Wolverines haven’t lost their first game in the Big Ten Tournament since 2006 and could use one more win to likely avoid the First Four in Dayton.
