Michigan basketball freshman Gregg Glenn enters the transfer portal
Michigan basketball freshman Gregg Glenn has entered the transfer portal, the third U-M player to make the move since the season ended. Glenn joins junior Hunter Dickinson and sophomore Isaiah Barnes in testing the portal waters.

In addition, the Wolverines lost freshman Jett Howard and sophomore Kobe Bufkin to the NBA Draft.
Glenn played in 4 games and notched 6 points in 6 rebounds as a freshman. He was a friend of the Howard family’s for a long time but admitted on media day back in October he was already feeling a bit homesick, having a hard time making the adjustment to Ann Arbor.
In that respect, this move might not be so surprising.
Some felt it was a reach when the Wolverines took him, including On3.com’s Jamie Shaw. Glenn was a ‘tweener who was interested to see how he’d fit in the Big Ten.
“He’ll be an interesting one. He’s got some unique pieces to his game,” Shaw said. “He’s big at 6-8, 230 pounds … big frame. And he’s a great passer … a good rebounder and a great passer. Offensively, I don’t know how he scores at Michigan, but he’s got some unique abilities to his game which kind of makes him intriguing.

“I don’t know how or where he defends, or how he scores. But the passing and rebounding is something where if Juwan wants to play small, he might be able to go with Glenn at four or five … run some mixed action type stuff.”
It wasn’t meant to be, however.
The Wolverines now have 7 scholarship players returning from last year’s team and will add an eighth when freshman George Washington III arrives on campus this summer. The shooting guard and 4-star prospect had an outstanding year at Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade-Julienne.
Fellow frosh and 4-star big man Papa Kante, however, asked out of his letter of intent and will not join the team.
However, Michigan has pledges from three from the transfer portal in North Carolina’s Caleb Love, Alabama’s Nimari Burnett, and Seton Hall’s Tray Jackson. None have been officially announced yet by the university.
As for Glenn … many believe he will transfer somewhere closer to home in Florida.
