Michigan signee George Washington III is off to a great start to his senior season, and he’s not the only future Wolverine playing well. Power forward Papa Kante and class of 2024 point guard Christian Anderson are also off to great starts.

Washington III scored 28 points in front of Michigan coach Juwan Howard to lead Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade Julienne to a 77-70 win over Alter in a GCL boys hoops showdown on Friday night. The Eagles remained undefeated with a 6-0 record, improving to 3-0 in league play.

Washington scored 21 points in a 70-39 win over Meadowdale Dec. 4. He also shined in a Nov. 29 win over Thurgood Marshall:

The Michigan signee and former Ohio State pledge made his debut Nov. 27. He scored 12 points in each half, including three triples, and scored 24 points. The Dayton Daily News reported, “his 24 points and smooth shooting impressed the big crowd,” adding he “attacked the rim with a strong dunk.”

“The best thing I can say about George is George is a terrific leader,” coach Charlie Szabo said. “He makes our practices great. Everybody rallies around him. I’m getting him very late in his career, so it’s been a process of melding the player he is with the program we have.”

In Connecticut, Michigan signee Kante put up a double-double for South Kent in front of Howard in a win over Westin Dec. 11, notching 10 points and 17 rebounds.

Kante led the Cardinal with 26 points in a 94-89 loss to Worcester Dec. 4, and he notched 12 points and 7 rebounds in a Dec. 3 win over McDuffie. He also put up 12 points and 17 rebounds in a 93-66 win over Redemption Christian Nov. 30

Finally, Michigan pledge Anderson is reportedly up to 5-11 from 5-8 after a growth spurt and continues to play extremely well. He led Atlanta Lovett 4A Lovett to a 58-55 win over Buford with 28 points and 7 rebounds Nov. 14, continuing to shoot lights out.

The pure scorer has kept it up all year. He scored 19 points in the fourth quarter alone in a 65-57 win over Woodland Dec. 10 and put up 28 in a 69-39 victory Dec. 2. He notched 28 points in a 79-52 win over Central Gwinnett Nov. 19.
