Newsstand: Hunter Dickinson doesn't think Sunday was last game at Crisler
Michigan basketball center Hunter Dickinson still has a season of eligibility remaining, but some speculated that Sunday’s win over Wisconsin could be his last at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. His buzzer-beating shot forced overtime and an eventual victory, giving him one of the signature moments of his career.
Our Clayton Sayfie asked Dickinson if he thought it might have been his final home game at Michigan, and the junior big man was admittedly caught off guard by the question.
“Wasn’t expecting that one,” he said. “I don’t think so. I don’t have the crystal ball. But if it was, it was a good way to end it. That’s for sure. But right now, I’m focused on trying to beat Illinois.”
Over the past three seasons at Michigan, Dickinson has averaged 16.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. This season he is averaging 17.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
The shot from Dickinson to force overtime was not he first option, but it did wind up being the winning option for Michigan.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
“I drew up a play where Joey would be the first option coming off a screen and Hunter would be the second option,” head coach Juwan Howard said after the game. “Terrence Williams Jr., hell of a pass. I would just say that. To be able to while guys draping all over him, to deliver it on time, on target. Yes, that was a big target with Hunter Dickinson. It was an amazing shot that we made, but we needed those. We’re owed that.”

Michigan quote of the day
“Those young men in that locker room, they deserve all the credit. With all the adversity they’ve been through, whether it’s with injuries, being a young team, being counted out, having some hard losses, winning some games and having a little inconsistency — the trust has been real from top to bottom. I really commend not just the players, but the staff for being dialed in, bought in and staying connected.”
