The Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball program opened its doors up to the media on Tuesday morning for a team media day and open practice, where we heard from nearly every member of the program sans head coach Juwan Howard, who is away from the team while recovering from heart surgery.

Associate head coach Phil Martelli is currently running the show with assistants Saddi Washington, Howard Eisley, Jay Smith and Jaaron Simmons backfilling the other duties that need to be performed. With no shortage of new faces, transfers, storylines and more, there was plenty to discuss with the team on Tuesday morning before media was allowed to watch an hour of practice.

Michigan will host an intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at Crisler Center at 3:30 p.m. before opening the season with an exhibition against Northwood on Nov. 3. The regular season begins on Nov. 7 at home against UNC Asheville.
