Michigan men’s basketball is onto its fifth-straight Sweet Sixteen as a program and will take on No. 2 seed Villanova for a trip to the Elite Eight on the line. The matchups are set heading into the NCAA Tournament’s second weekend and a tip time is now official.

The Wolverines and Wildcats will meet on Thursday evening at 7:15 p.m. ET with TBS drawing the broadcast assignment. The game will take place in San Antonio, the same spot both teams met in the 2018 national championship game.

Vegas has also weighed in on Thursday’s contest. Villanova opened as a five-point favorite with some sportsbooks showing 4.5 points.

Michigan and Villanova have met twice with both games coming in 2018. They lost to the Wildcats by a score of 79-62 on April 2, 2018 in the title game, then came back in November and blew them out 73-46 in a non-conference matchup. Thursday night will serve as the rubber match in the series.

Michigan quote of the day

“Hey, man, just being able to play in the NCAA Tournament is a dream come true for any basketball player. Every kid grows up watching the NCAA Tournament, and being able to play good in it is an amazing experience. Obviously, being a big man, you really don’t get the ball without your teammates. So obviously I have to give a shout-out to them because they find me in great spots. The coaching staff puts me in great positions to score. They make it easy for me out there.”
