The Michigan basketball women grabbed a huge 65-50 victory over No. 5 Indiana on Monday night to keep its hot streak going. It is the Wolverines’ second win over a top-five opponent this season.
Naz Hillmon scored 21 points, while Emily Kisker grabbed a career-best 16 rebounds in the victory. The showdown was the first between top-six ranked teams in the Big Ten since 2004.

The Wolverines, now ranked No. 6, defeated fifth-ranked Indiana, 65-50 before a spirited crowd at the Crisler Center. The win pushes Michigan into the Big Ten lead. It was the first meeting of top-six Big Ten teams since 2004.
“This was huge,” co-captain Danielle Rauch said, via the Detroit News. “We have the pieces to beat anybody right now. Indiana was kind of the standard. They were at the top of the Big Ten undefeated, so we knew that coming in, and we knew we were going to have to prove everybody that we are the best team right now.”
Monday was a historic day for the Wolverines, who rose to the program’s highest-ever spot in the rankings by being elevated to No. 6.
Next up for Michigan, who sits at 19-2 on the season, is a road trip to Illinois.
