Michigan bowl projections: Final roundup updated shortly before CFP bracket reveal

The Michigan Wolverines are going bowling coming off a 7-5 regular season in the first year under head coach Sherrone Moore and will find out their destination on Sunday afternoon. Most of the buzz heading into the bowl selection process of late has centered on the Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa or the Music City Bowl in Nashville with an outside shot at the Pinstripe Bowl in New York.
Plenty of projections are out there to get an idea of where Michigan might land. Below is the final roundup prior to the official designation on Sunday.
The Athletic: Pinstripe Bowl vs. Boston College (Dec. 28, Bronx, New York)
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Pinstripe Bowl pop up. Here they would take on a Boston College team coached by Bill O’Brien, who was Ohio State’s offensive coordinator before taking the job and being replaced by Chip Kelly.
ESPN.com: Reliaquest Bowl vs. Florida (Dec. 31, Tampa, Florida)
Typically we separate Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach’s projections, but there was no need to do that today. They are unified in predicting a trip to Tampa for Michigan against a familiar bowl foe in the Florida Gators, who are also coming off a 7-5 season under head coach Billy Napier. U-M is 4-1 all-time against the Gators and last played them in the 2018 Peach Bowl, a 41-15 loss.
Bleacher Report: Music City Bowl vs. Ole Miss (Dec. 30, Nashville, Tennessee)
Music City has been a favorite choice during bowl projections and a showdown with Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin might draw some eyeballs. The teams have met once, a 35-3 Michigan win in 1991.

Sporting News: Music City Bowl vs. LSU (Dec. 30, Nashville, Tennessee)
A showdown in Nashville with Brian Kelly and the Tigers would be fascinating, especially since Michigan just flipped and signed Five-Star+ quarterback Bryce Underwood, who had been committed to LSU since January. Michigan and LSU have never met on the football field.
Action Network (UPDATED): Reliaquest Bowl vs. Ole Miss (Dec. 31, Tampa, Florida)
To start the day, Brett McMurphy had Michigan playing Alabama in Tampa, but he pivoted shortly before the College Football Playoff bracket reveal. The Crimson Tide are not in the CFP, but he has moved onto Ole Miss.
CBS Sports: Music City Bowl vs. Missouri (Dec. 30, Nashville, Tennessee)
The Missouri program has been copying a lot of Michigan traits of late, right down to beating Ohio State on the field last postseason. The two could settle somewhat of a score in Nashville, and renew a series that has not been played on the field since 1975. Michigan is 2-2 against Missouri all-time.
