Michigan CB Will Johnson to host holiday toy drive on Dec. 14 in Troy
Michigan Wolverines football junior cornerback Will Johnson will hold “The WJ Champions Circle Holiday Toy Drive” featuring the star and several of his teammates on Dec. 14 at the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan, according to a release from Champions Circle.
Champions Circle, an official NIL partner of the University of Michigan athletic department, will put on th event along with several football players, along with a second session in the afternoon headlined by student-athletes from the Olympic sports.
Last year’s event was led by former Michigan running back Blake Corum and members of the 2024 football team, drawing nearly 15,000 fans to the event who contributed over 25,000 toys. They were distributed to several organizations throughout the Detroit area and Haiti, via Mitch Albom’s SAY Detroit program.
Johnson’s toy drive asks for new, unwrapped toys to donate with the proceeds going to the Sound Mind Sound Body (SMSB) organization, as well as Best Buddies International and other local charities. The first 300 people in attendance will be able to join Johnson for a photograph, along with other players that will be in attendance.
