Report: Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh interviewing with the Vikings
The Jim Harbaugh to the NFL watch isn’t over quite yet. Michigan’s head coach was once considered the favorite to land the Las Vegas Raiders job. Now, with that talk having died down, he’s now being linked to the Minnesota Vikings.

ProFootballTalk.com reports that Harbaugh will interview with the franchise. It appears that’s his only NFL option at this point as he renegotiates his contract with Michigan, though it remains to be seen how high he is on the Vikings’ wish list.
The Vikings have already interviewed several candidates for the job made vacant after Mike Zimmer’s firing. They recently hired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as their General Manager. He worked in San Francisco’s front office for two years when Harbaugh was head coach there.
Minnesota has also requested permission to interview New York Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. That appears to be more proof that the Vikings search is expanding rather than narrowing.

Several other candidates remain on the Vikings’ radar, as well, in addition to Harbaugh. Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris and Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell are all on the list.
San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, meanwhile, is also a reported candidate. He and the Rams coaches are still involved in the NFL playoffs and likely wouldn’t be interviewed until next week, at the earliest.
Michigan A.D. Warde Manuel has offered Harbaugh a package that’s still not among the highest in the Big Ten East Division, per sources and reports. That’s left Harbaugh open to other possibilities. And while he’s been thought to favor returning to Ann Arbor, he could have another opportunity.
Harbaugh was voted the AP Coach of the Year in 2021.
