Michigan has extended an offer to former Wake Forest wide receiver Jahmal Banks. This came just hours before Indiana wideout Donaven McCulley, who entered the transfer portal, announced that he would be remaining with the Hoosiers.

From The Wolverine’s Anthony Broome:

Banks (6-4, 205) entered the transfer portal on Dec. 8 and has been on a visit tour that included Wisconsin earlier this week and Notre Dame on Friday. It remains to be seen if he will go to Ann Arbor while in the area.

This season, Banks caught 59 passes for 653 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Demon Deacons in both catches and yards. During the 2022 campaign, he grabbed 42 receptions for 636 yards and nine touchdowns.

Banks hails from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, home to Michigan stars Blake Corum, Derrick Moore and others. U-M has another transfer portal offer to a St. Frances alum in Maryland linebacker Jaishawn Barham. As a recruit, Banks was the No. 1,190 prospect in the 2022 class and 197th-ranked wide receiver. On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings list him as the No. 29 available wideout.

Michigan football has won five games since the Detroit Pistons have won a game. The Pistons are on a franchise-record 22-game losing drought, last winning a game Oct. 28.

Michigan guard Dug McDaniel and the Wolverines will be in action this afternoon against Eastern Michigan.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell, a Pittsburgh native, were in Pitt to visit four-star linebacker commit Cole Sullivan out of Central Catholic High School. Sullivan is the No. 185 overall player in the 2024 class, according to the On3 rankings.

Quote Of The Day

“The win was actually pretty crazy and it was good for them to come out with a win. The atmosphere and how it was a nail-bitter game was all ridiculous to us. I met a couple of players and coaches, so that was good. They took this game as seriously as they could. The atmosphere was the craziest I’ve ever seen in my life. Sold out game. Fans everywhere. The fans were tailgating everywhere while we were walking to the stadium. To have so many people there was beautiful, in my opinion. Something I’ve never seen before.”
