Michigan Wolverines junior defensive tackle Kenneth Grant has officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, he announced on social media. He had one season of eligibility remaining, but will instead be taking his talents to the next level.

Grant appeared in 41 games in a Michigan unform along the defensive line, making 17 starts and getting the opening nod in all 12 games this season. He was a third-team All-American selection this year and a two-time All-Big Ten honoree (second team, coaches, 2023-24; second team, media, 2024; third team, media, 2023).

Over the course of his career, Grant recorded 69 total tackles, 9 passes defended and 6.5 sacks playing nose tackle on the Michigan defense.

Grant was a four-star recruit and the No. 277 player in the country in the 2022 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He ranked 33rd among defensive linemen and 9th among players out of the state of Indiana. He played his high school ball at Merrillville.

“He can do anything,” teammate Derrick Moore said, cited in his On3 profile. “You can double team him. He can still beat it. You can triple team him. He can still beat it. You can drop him into coverage. He’s going to strap you down. He can do whatever. It’s crazy. I’ve never seen any D-tackles ever doing it, and I’ve been around a lot of great D-tackles. But he’s different. He’s really different.”

Most NFL Draft pundits expect him to push for a potential first-round selection next spring, along with class and positionmate Mason Graham. He is the fourth Michigan player from the 2022 recruiting class to declare from the draft, joining Graham, tight end Colston Loveland and cornerback Will Johnson. All four of them could go in the first round.

“Grant flashes the ability to be a constant pocket pusher and a collapsing DL on passing downs,” The Draft Network’s Damian Parson wrote. “Whether aligned at nose tackle or further down the line of scrimmage, his quickness at the snap can overwhelm IOL. His first-step quickness puts pressure on blockers to get their hands fitted and latched into his jersey then anchoring down to prevent him from bowing them over into the face of their QB.  He has quick active hands to dislodge and counter the punches from his opponent. Grant possesses multiple pass rush moves to quickly defeat his guy and immediately make his presence felt in the QBs face. Like, push-pull, double-hand swipes, long-arm over, bull rush, and an inside spin counter.”
