Michigan drops double overtime heartbreaker to Florida in Jumpman Invitational
The Michigan Wolverines walked out of the Jumpman Invitational showdown with the Florida Gators with a heartbreaking double-overtime 106-101 loss on Tuesday night, dropping their record to 6-6 (1-1 Big Ten) on the season.
After some missed opportunities in non-conference play, a Power Five win was needed for resume purposes. Instead, it was the team’s sixth loss in its last nine games. The defeat drops Michigan to 1-4 in games decided by six points or less this season and 5-17 overall in those contests over the last two years.
Michigan was led by sophomore point guard Dug McDaniel, who led all scorers with 33 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
