Wolverine TV: Michigan cornerback commit D’Juan Waller talks decision
A late-riser in the recruitment process in terms of the amount of Power 5 offers received this fall and his respective ranksing on the On3 Consensus, 2023 Youngstown (Ohio) Chaney three-star cornerback D’Juan Waller Jr. would announce his commitment to Michigan late-Sunday night after his official visit.
Waller, who was offered by co-defensive coordinator Steve Clinkscale back in October – later including the Wolverines in his list of top three schools and then later his two – also made his debut in Ann Arbor for the home finale against Illinois. Waiting until he wrapped up his official this past weekend to go public with a commitment, just a few days before the early signing period, Waller now becomes the fourth senior recruit on Michigan’s recruiting class.
The Wolverine met up with Waller at his school on Monday for an exclusive interview on why the 6-foot-3 and 195-pounder felt like he belonged at Michigan and his excitement of remaining teammates with fellow Chaney three-star and Michigan commit, as well as close friend, Jason Hewlett. Waller’s pledge came right before Aurora (Co.) Regis Jesuit three-star linebacker Hayden Moore also took to social media to share his commitment to Michigan on Monday.
“I feel good. I feel excited to be a part of Michigan. It’s kind of like a dream come true. I’ve watched Michigan a lot on TV. Knowing that they’re one of the top ten teams around the nation, I’m just blessed,” Waller said.

Waller has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.7K with 1,700 combined followers on Instagram and Twitter. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
