Michigan players who did not opt in or make EA Sports College Football 25 as of release day
The Michigan Wolverines were featured prominently in the marketing for the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game, which releases worldwide on Friday. However, the game became available on Monday at 4 p.m. ET to those who preordered the Deluxe Edition, and there were several notable players not included in the game as of launch day.
A handful of projected starters are not in the game as of July 15 in the form of senior guard Giovanni El-Hadi, sophomore cornerback Jyaire Hill and graduate safety Quinten Johnson. Also not included are a handful of freshmen that could be future fixtures, such as quarterback Jadyn Davis, running back Jordan Marshall and others. Davis and wide receiver Channing Goodwin are the only winter enrollees not in the game.
Transfer defensive backs Aamir Hall and Wesley Walker are also absent from the game on launch day, as is wide receiver Amorion Walker.
Players who opted into the game, the first installment in the series since 2013, received a $600 payout and a copy of the game. Freshmen who did not enroll until the summer could be added during roster updates closer to and throughout the season.
“I think we’re just super pumped at the end of the day,” the video game’s production director, Christian McLeod told On3’s Andy Staples. “I don’t think there were nerves. It was more belief in our rockstar [business development] team. They put together an amazing, amazing deal. And honestly, it was amazing to see. It was amazing to see the reception. Again, we’ve lost a generation on this product and are so happy that it’s coming back.”
