ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Three third-year Michigan Wolverines football players met with the media Thursday afternoon ahead of the team’s spring game (Saturday, April 2 at The Big House at 12 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network). Wide receiver A.J. Henning, outside linebacker Jaylen Harrell and defensive tackle Kris Jenkins had sessions with reporters and discussed a myriad of topics.

All three players are expected to have much bigger roles for Michigan this fall, now that they’re all upperclassmen. Henning is stepping into a situation where he could be the starter at the slot position — with Mike Sainristil having moved to nickel (he’s playing both ways). He expects Michigan to use him on end-arounds and potentially out of the backfield, too. Jenkins has steadily been adding weight and continues to be a bigger force on the interior of the Michigan defensive line. Meanwhile, Harrell was mostly used on run downs last season but wants to become a more complete player — and he said that’s where he’s grown the most this offseason, being able to rush the passer and have a combination of moves so that he can stay on the field the entire game if needed.
