Michigan football has national championship designs for the 2023 season, but the program will not be sneaking up on anyone.

Heading into the dog days of the offseason, Brett McMurphy of The Action Network put out his bowl and College Football Playoff projections. In his batch of scenarios, he has Michigan heading to the Rose Bowl to take on the Florida State Seminoles.

Predicting a victory, he then sends them to the CFP National Championship game in Houston to take on the defending title-winning Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia would take on the Washington Huskies out of the Pac-12 in the Sugar Bowl before its game against Michigan.

As far as the New Year’s Six bowls go, a pair of Big Ten East squads are set for those games in McMurphy’s projections. Penn State would head to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta to take on LSU, while Ohio State would go to the Orange Bowl for a showdown with the Clemson Tigers. The other NY6 games include Oregon taking on Tulane in the Fiesta Bowl and Alabama facing Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl.
