Michigan football fourth-year defensive end Aidan Hutchinson added another piece of hardware to his resume on Sunday evening. The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced on Dec. 12 that he was awarded the 2021 Lott IMPACT Trophy.

“First awarded in 2004, the Lott IMPACT Trophy is presented annually to the student-athlete who exhibits the characteristics displayed by Ronnie Lott during his college and professional years,” the release from Michigan read. “IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, and Tenacity. Hutchinson received $25,000 for the University of Michigan’s general scholarship fund. A National Voter Panel of more than 300 former college coaches, players and members of the media voted on the award.”

Other finalists this year included Georgia’s Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis and Utah’s Devin Lloyd.

Hutchinson had a busy week of awards headlined by finishing second in the Heisman Trophy running on Saturday night in New York. He flew to California on Sunday for the Lott trophy. He also won the Lombardi award for best lineman in the country and the Ted Hendricks Trophy for the best defensive end in the land. Hutchinson is also the Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award winner by Big Ten coaches as the conference’s best all-around player.

Hutchinson had 58 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 14 sacks in the first 13 games of the season.

“Nobody’s owed anything, nobody’s entitled to anything. But when you’re around a group of guys that attack everything the way they attack their school work, their practice, and they want to give it their very best, you got a good feeling it’s going to happen.”
