Michigan Wolverines football updated its coaching staff page on Tuesday afternoon following the official announcements of Biff Poggi (Associate Head Coach) and Erik “Soup” Campbell (Assistant Wide Receivers Coach) rejoining the program.

Campbell returns to Michigan after spending six seasons at Bowling Green as its passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. He has four decades of collegiate coaching experience, which started at Michigan in 1988 as a grad assistant. He was previously the wide receivers coach and assistant head coach from 1995-2007 before returning as a recruiting coordinator in 2015.

The biggest overall change in the directory came in the form of analysts and grad assistants being given official titles linked to their position groups instead of the normal offensive or defensive analyst designation.

Last summer, the NCAA passed a new rule allowing analysts to be able to help with on-field coaching for practices and games. Prior to that, they were only able to assist as off-field personnel, which is something Michigan faced a punishment for as part of its “Burgergate” scandal.

Starting last season, they can now play a direct role in on-field coaching and player development.

A few notable changes are Jack Clark moving from tight ends to Assistant Running Backs coach, where he will work along position coach Tony Alford and Senior Offensive Analyst/Running Backs assistant Fred Jackson. James Brown also moved from an Administrative Specialist to Assistant Special Teams Coordinator. Additionally, Pernell McPhee has moved from being a grad assistant to being named the Outside Linebackers Coach. Michigan has also added Travis Russell as a Quarterback Assistant.

The full support staff includes:

Biff Poggi – Associate Head Coach
James Brown – Assistant Special Teams Coordinator
Erik Campbell – Assistant Wide Receivers Coach
Juan Castillo – Senior Assistant Offensive Line Coach
Jack Clark – Assistant Running Backs Coach
Garrett Clawson – Assistant Special Teams Coach
Nick Gilbert – Assistant Offensive Line Coach
Brad Hawkins – Assistant Defensive Backs Coach (GA)
Bret Ingalls – Senior Offensive Analyst
Fred Jackson – Senior Offensive Analyst/Running Backs
Grant Kurzner – Special Teams Analyst
Pernell McPhee – Outside Linebackers Coach
Nick Rossiello – Assistant Offensive Line Coach (GA)
Travis Russell – Quarterback Assistant
Josh Sinagoga – Assistant Quarterback Coach
Lionel Stokes – Safety Coach

There are only 11 coaches, including head coach Sherrone Moore, who can go on the road and see recruits. There were no changes in titles announced by the program on Tuesday for these men.
