Michigan football at No. 10 in this week's AP Poll
The Michigan Wolverines are 4-1 and are still near the top of the polls this week after a 27-24 win over Minnesota on Saturday, sitting at No. 10 in the country in the latest ranking from the AP Poll. They are up two spots from last week.
Michigan is one of seven teams from the Big Ten in the new poll, headlined by No. 3 Ohio State, No. 6 Oregon, No. 7 Penn State, the 10th-ranked Wolverines, No. 11 USC, No. 23 Indiana and No. 24 Illinois. Michigan plays four of those teams with a date at Illinois on Oct. 19, a showdown at home with Oregon on Nov. 2, at Indiana on Nov. 9 and the regular season finale at Ohio State on Nov. 30.
This week’s top five gets a bit of a shakeup after Alabama’s win over Georgia on Saturday night with the Tide the new No. 1 team, followed by Texas, OSU, Tennessee and Georgia, respectively.

“Like I told the team in the locker room, it was really a tale of two halves for us,” Moore said. “We played really well in the first half and not as good in the second half. The energy that we had, I felt that we had, but the execution wasn’t there. Me as a coach, I gotta make sure I do a good job of turning that thing up in the second half for them. Making sure they’re ready to go. They were but we just didn’t execute as well as we needed to.
“When you feel like you’ve got a lead, and you’re building on it, and you get momentum, and you come out the second half, you let a couple things get away from you, it just feels different. So, we’re happy we got the win, but not happy, not satisfied with how we got the win.”
The next challenge on the docket is the first road trip of the season, heading out to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies in a rematch of last season’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET with NBC carrying the national broadcast between the new Big Ten foes.
