Newsstand: Blake Corum trolls Mel Tucker after win over Michigan State
Michigan moved to 8-0 on the season with a 29-7 victory over Michigan State on Saturday night in ANn Arbor. The game’s biggest storyline is what happened after, but U-M did its best to put on a show during game action.
Junior running back Blake Corum, who finished the game with 177 rush yards and 2 total touchdowns, wanted to see more points to reflect the domination U-M unleashed on the Spartans.
“You want to win,” he said after the game. “I would say we got out of it what we wanted to [out of the game].. But we’ve got to score. I want to blow them out, and it should have been a blowout. We’ve got to get better in the red zone — and we will.”
His comments on the game, of course, came after a swipe at MSU head coach Mel Tucker.
“I thought Tuck was comin’,” Corum said to reporters. “I thought Tuck was comin’. That’s what they said this offseason, right? All them shirts — Tuck was comin’. I saw him running.
“Come on now. They can throw them shirts away.”
The Michigan and MSU rivalry is perpetually heated, but the talk during the game quieted down as Michigan settled into its dominant performance.

“They were talking,” Corum said. “But you can only talk so much when you’re getting punished. It got quiet real quick.”

Michigan quote of the day
“What happened after the game was completely unacceptable. I talked to the commissioner. He is looking into it. We have the police also looking into it because they’ve seen the video. And so they’re addressing it. We will leave it in their hands, but this is not how we should interact after a game.
“This is not the way another team should grab a player and do what they did. It’s completely and utterly unacceptable. We will let the Big Ten and law enforcement handle it, but this is not what a rivalry should be about. It’s not how it should be remembered. We won on the field. This man [Jim Harbaugh] and his team, those players, went out there and won. And for that to happen is unacceptable. That’s all I’m going to say. I’ll leave it to Kevin and law enforcement to handle from here on out.”
