Wolverine TV: Michigan football chooses reps for media days, more
Michigan football season is right around the corner with the unofficial start to the new year coming next week at Big Ten Football Media Days in Indianapolis. The Wolverines will be represented by head coach Jim Harbaugh and a trio of players.
Senior running back Blake Corum, senior defensive lineman Kris Jenkins and graduate defensive back Mike Sainristil will be the players in attendance. Each of them has a great shot to be a team captain, which is not lost on The Wolverine’s John Borton and co-host Tom Crawford in this week’s live show.
“Obviously Kris Jenkins, we’ve talked about him quite a bit,” Crawford said. “I’m a huge Jenkins fan. I just think he’s that NFL DNA that you can tell that’s just how he’s bred and he’s a fun guy. These three guys are obviously legitimate and I can see why they’re there, but my God, I go through that roster, just like we talked about JB with who are the captains going to be… I think it’s going to be a five-person captaincy this year. But I mean, you could have 8-10 to 12 other representatives that would be literally equally worthy as these three.
“And that’s the makeup of this team and that’s why I’m so excited about this team. It’s got depth in not only talent but character kids.”
Big Ten Media Days run from July 26-27 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium, site of Michigan’s two Big Ten Championship wins over the last two seasons. U-M will take the podium on July 27 for its session with full wall-to-wall coverage coming from the team at The Wolverine.
