Newsstand: Colin Cowherd — 'Jim Harbaugh has relegated Ohio State to just another team Michigan beats'
Tweets Of The Day
Michigan has beaten Ohio State three straight seasons, and FOX host Colin Cowherd believes the rivalry has shifted, and will remain at its current spot, as long as head coach Jim Harbaugh is in Ann Arbor.
“More than anything, this cannot be disputed, Ohio State was arguably, along with Alabama, the best college football program in America about four years ago,” Cowherd said on his show. “Now they are the second-best program in their own conference the Big Ten. Jim Harbaugh has relegated Ohio State to just another team Michigan beats.
“Ohio State was pushed around by Michigan for the third year in a row — and this was the ‘great’ Ohio State defense. It was vaunted,it was exceptional. Michigan had more than 120 rushing yards in the second half. That is owning somebody.
“Like politics and religion, the Harbaugh haters line up. They’ve got to find a way to tear him down. ‘He’s cheating, the scandal, the signs!’ Again, without the signs, Michigan was even more dominant and scored on every second-half drive they didn’t kneel.
“In football, Ohio State can claim a lot of things, but one thing is indisputable, as long as Jim Harbaugh remains the coach at Michigan, you may occasionally beat him, but they will have the best coach and the best culture in the series.
“In politics, you can claim ‘we actually won, it was rigged!’ At Ohio State, ‘it’s cheating!’ The only way to re-claim this series if you’re a Buckeye — cross your fingers that he leaves.”
Michigan point guard Dug McDaniel is considered one of the fastest players with the ball in his hands in the country.

Michigan vs. Iowa will kick off at 8:17 p.m. ET in Indianapolis.
Michigan safety Rod Moore takes fans inside the play of his interception that sealed the win against Ohio State.
Michigan’s 30-24 win over Ohio State drew 19.07 million viewers, the largest audience for the rivalry since the No. 1 vs. No. 2 game in 2006, per Sports Media Watch. It was the most-watched game this season. For comparison, the Iron Bowl had 9.09 million viewers.
For the first time since John Navarre in 2003, Michigan has the first-team All-Big Ten quarterback as voted by both the coaches and media in J.J. McCarthy. Denard Robinson in 2010 (media) and Chad Henne in 2007 (coaches) were first-team by only one of the media or coaches. Entering this season, Ohio State had the first-team All-Big Ten quarterback in the last seven and nine out of 10 seasons.
Quote Of The Day
“This game, to me, this is the game. When you come to Michigan, it’s for this game, or this type of game. Our season goals are really hinged on that game. All the reasons the guys came back — all the reasons we want to get to that next step as a program and have success in the championship game and the playoff — hinged on that game. It was a moment. I was happy with the way the game ended. Rod [Moore] made a great play [with an interception], and I certainly got caught up in the moment, got excited.”
